The landlord is responsible to provide you the apartment in the living condition. The sewerage pipe if burst should be repaired by the landlord. You must know the law of your state about repair. I am not sure how much time the landlord can take to repair the damage according to the law in your state.

What about this!   I have a residential home in a 24 month lease where the tenant is running a legitimate Personal Home Care business.   I have an apartment in the back of this property that shares the septic tank.   Last weekend, I noticed water flooding out of the front door of the apartment.   What I found was the tenants employees were flushing floor cloth sheets in the toilets and stopped up the septic tank line.   The sewage had no where to go except the apartment. Is this the tenants responsibility?   I don't think my insurance will cover it as the homeowner.

I had this exact problem. I had rented a guest house, and had only lived there 2 months when the house flooded with sewage. Here in California we were able to have the landlord pay for our initial hotel fees, then ran into problems. They did give me my entire security dep back, but after that the atty stated that it was my responsibility to have renters insurance. Contact the city, show them that the house is uninhabitable, and contact your local courthouse. They generally have advisers there to assist you with landlord tenant disputes so you can find out your states laws.

The landlords responsibility is providing all of the utilities with useful  condition..if its damage after some time then it will be repair by landlords but i am not sure about how much time they will charge for repairing... Because they gave you in useful condition. All of these things write in your agreement that you sign with your landlords .
