Once you possess the decree, you can visit the County Clerk's office (NY). It's best to bring an official copy of the divorce decree; I am not sure that a copy is sufficient. An employee at the clerk's office will inspect the decree, photocopy it, register your divorce in the data base and you will be issued a marriage license on the spot or shortly thereafter by mail.Once you have your marriage license you may remarry. Congratulations. Better luck this time around!
