That is certainly wrong information. ...It always depends on the misdemeanor in MICHIGAN, whereas of course in Wisconsin the Rules are slightly different.

ANSWER:   A serious MISDEMEANOR such as M*DM*CSTEW will stay on the Public Record in the great State of Michigan for just as long as there is still any danger, suspicion or threat that he might try to re-enter the State under cover of darkness,by sneaking over the Border or paying to be smuggled in by illicit drug-smuggler's transport-plane. ---AMEN!!--

LOL!!! ,,,I'm glad you liked my ANSWER, Aileeny--which was as near to factual as I could get, at the time of writing.
You correctly noticed that there was a complete and utter absence of 'scorn' in my response!

As ever, BB's answer is factually erroneous if he's referring to an actual misdemeanour. As for myself, I am welcome in any of the 50 States, thanks to my contribution to what is now called Homeland Security, during my time with Hughes Aircraft Company.

If YOU're now working for HOMELAND SECURITY, then I don't hold out much hope for America's chances of protecting its borderlines from blatant borderline fifth columnists. Sorry.
