My house was foreclosed on. The new owners want me to leave in fourteen days. They are threatening eviction process. I live in Florida how long does that take?
The landlord would have to go to the courthouse and pay around $125.00 to have eviction papers (legally) served on your son in the state of Florida.
Once the papers are served by the local Sherriffs department, your son would have a total of 3 days to vacate the premisses.
After that, the Sherriffs Dept. Would arrive at the door and have them to move their belongings out at that time.
He may be able to seek free legal help in order to get an extension, through the Legal Aid Sociaty in his County.
Also, probably would qualify for extra financial help through The Department of Children and Families until he is back on his feet. The DCF will do retroactive help for 90 days back pay, on prior loss of wages, from the time he first applies.
I said a prayer for your son and his family.
Hope this helps.
