The best way of finding out if you have a warrant is to pay a visit to your local police station and enquire with them. Of course, if it turns out you do indeed have a warrant then you should prepare yourself for the repercussions.

It has been suggested that you could also get in touch with your local police department via the telephone, but this is thought to be greatly inconvenient for everybody involved.

If you were to ring the police department they would begin by asking you to identify yourself. This is a problematic approach because even if you give them personal details about yourself, they would still need to confirm you are who you say you are in person.

This in turn would lead to the police denying you access to the information they have on you. Due to an influx in personality theft, personal details have become even more confidential than ever.

Even if you were to be told you have a warrant for your arrest over the phone, this would only result in the police coming looking for you. So it would be easier for everyone if you were to attend your local police station in person and if you do have a warrant, turn yourself in without any hassle.

If you have handed yourself in, this will make everything run much smoother and easier for both you as an individual, your family and friends and the police department. Instead of having to track you down, you can give them all the information they need and everything will be better in the end.

You don't.  LA County's policy is that people under suspicion of criminal activity be investigated, and evidence be gathered to obtain an arrest warrant WITHOUT notifying the person under investigation.  Only when issuing bench warrants does the county mail notification to the person.  With either a bench warrant or an arrest warrant, you will be arrested and taken to jail -- difference being you can "turn yourself in" with a bench warrant and if you have a good lawyer, they'll book you, set a court date, and let you go home.  By law, the court must notify you of a bench warrant in writing.  Arrest warrants, however, are not on record anywhere except the police's computer system.  Not until you're arrested and receive a booking number does the court information become public record.

THE ONLY WAY, in my opinion, to find out if you have an arrest warrant, is to know someone in the police force that will tell you you have one without arresting you...

Good luck -- check out this link for more answers

I have been taking the lazy route for 3 weeks, trying to avoid having to go to court. I finally called the court and told them my situation. They did not tell me that I have a warrant but they did tell me what to do to prevent that from happening... You can call the court in which you would have to report to if you did have a warrant. Or you could do what I should have did which is to call your local police department. They'll be able to look it up.

Well dear your city state should have a website where you'll be able to find out all that information. Apart from that, it would be better if you call the Police Agency or the County courthouse to check. If you paid for the ticket by a cheque then your bank can also tell you. But again, kindly search for the websites of your state/city that provide such information. For example:

You can check with the Police Department at the address 75 E Civic Center Dr
Gilbert, AZ 85296. You can send an e-mail. For Police Records you can call (480) 635-7020 or alternatively fax them on (480) 635-7096. Timothy J. Dorn is currently Chief of Police. Their phone number is (480) 503-6500.

Visit www.ci.gilbert.az.us/police/default.cfm for details. This is the Gilbert Police Department Home website. Here you can check Community Alert Bulletin, Frequently Asked Questions, Youth and Adult Resources, Department Directory and so on.

Additionally you can check with www.criminal-records.com/wants_warrants/index.html for details. For a fee, the site displays existing outstanding warrants. Someone has any particular outstanding warrants for arrest going back as far as 19 years. Be warned, they have a one-time fee per search. They also offer neither guarantees nor refunds.

OK EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION...ive been doing research on this for the pas 5 days...no one will tell you anything over the phone. If they do than you really just got lucky because I've tried all the little tricks to see if I had a warrant and the only way your ever going to know is if you walk into the courthouse/police dept and ask..which blows because I'd like to not walk into a trap, especially if I don't have the bail money...so please don't waste your time on hold with everyone trying to find an answer they wont give out

If you think you have a warrant, then you know what jurisdiction the warrant was issued from. Pick up the telephone and call the court clerk's office and ask them. From a pay phone. Use a handkerchief over the mouthpiece to muffle your voice so they won't recognize you. And a fake accent.

Oh yeah, and wear latex gloves so they can't get your fingerprints from the phone.

My best advice is to show up in person to ask.  I know this isn't an easy thing to do, because you think you have a warrant, but trust my personal experience.  If you call, one of two things are very likely to happen.  1:  They will tell you:  You will have to come in and identify yourself.  We can't give out that information over the phone ( which is most likely these days with the identity theft problem mounting so high). Or 2:  If they do look it up and find out that you do indeed have a warrant they will start hunting you down and they wont be very nice when they find you.  Trust me.  Even if you do have a warrant, you make it a lot easier on yourself if you turn yourself in rather than making them find you.

Don't know about the website but you can call the police department where you think you might have a warrant and ask them. You don't have to tell them who you are when you are on the phone with them, just ask if so and so ( your name ) has a warrant out for him.

The law enforcement agency will not give out warrant information over the phone. They will tell you to come down with ID, which if you do have a warrant you will promptly be arrested.
