I don't know if you can ..but I wouldnt if you do then who ever is doing the abusing will think they can keep doing it ...and one day you will wish you had keep the charges.I wouldnt drop them and I would let the abuser know I didnt so they will know you are serious.

I'm wondering the same thing. Because 5 yrs ago, my sister charged my mom with assault, and now my mom has a warrant out for her because she failed to go to court because she lived 300 miles away and doesn't have a way of transportation and no cash.  So, it's 5 yrs later and her and my sister *who's 40-something* are fine! And my sister still hasn't done anything about the case!  And my mom barely slapped her back in the day! I was there. And I don't know why she called the cops. ...anyways...I was wondering if it was possible for it to be dropped as well.
