Man may not have made a law against pornography, but God most certainly has said a few things about it in the Word:
Matthew 5:28 (NIV)
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.Think on those poor women who are being objectified in the flesh. You are looking on them with desire and committing a crime against your own spirit by viewing such things.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (NIV)
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
Do you not know that God came in the flesh to die for you? And therefore, by believing in Him, your body is a temple for His holy spirit. Do not vile it by poisoning your conscience with images of wretched existence. Do you not know that pornography is meant to destroy the image of a pure friendship, and a pure relationship at that. How can you ever look at your female friends the same, when you have seen women used in such sexually vulgar ways?
Psalm 119:37 (NIV)
Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. You must admit, pornography is worthless. Sure, it is, excuse me, a "means to an end" but at what cost? Do it enhance your life? Does it bring you pure joy and true comfort? Or does it leave you feeling ashamed and grieved? It is not meant to do anything good for anyone, but is a horrible misuse of a bodily function. See what the Bible says; "preserve my life in your word." How can you be the image of Godliness and goodness when you have taken in such vulgar, wretched images?
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.You must understand that the desire to watch pornography is a temptation of evil. God does not tempt us, but makes a way for us to avoid temptation. Please realize that the worst of the worst people in society (murderers and rapists) usually do not attribute their behavior to poor upringing, but to the use of pornography; it mutilates the mind; it damages the senses; it skews what it right and gives a lenses of vile wickedness through which the world (and people) will then be viewed.
1 John 2:16 (NIV)
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
The desire to watch pornography is not a normal desire given by God, but the lust of the flesh; a need for the body to be satisfied. Realize, there is no true satisfaction in watching such filth, and that, in the end, it will only harm you mentally, emotionally, and socially.
Hebrews 13:4 (NIV)
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. It is through marriage alone that God justifies the sexual act. It is when the picture of God's love is complete, through the union of two people, that we find our sexual tensions relieved, and ourselves fully satisfied and sanctified through the course of romantic love.
