My Heat Is Included In My Rent, Now My Landlord Has Placed A Lock Box Over My Thermostat And It Is Set At 62, Is The A Minimum Temperature The Thermostat Has To Be Set At Especially In The Winter And Is Having A Lock Box Over It Illegal?

Its 68 in Pennsylvania, they have to turn it up.

Being as though the landlord is paying for the heat they can set the thermostat at the temperature they prefer. You can discuss this with your landlord and explain that this is not a good temperature for the winter weather and see what happens,but legally they can set the temperature at 62 the lowest,and the lock box is legal also. Invest in an electric heater for those especially cold nights.

I am a landlord in PA and I set my thermostats to 68 and they are all locked.  The tenants still complain that it is too cold.  Most of the ones complaining are wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
