Go to your county's legal aid,every county should have one.I would just pick up the phone and call any lawyers office and ask the legal secretary.

I got thinking,unfotunately your contract was with the old landlord, not the new one, but you have to have somerights it would seem

I went through a similar situation when the building I was living in was in foreclosure. Yes, you ARE protected by your "old" lease until it expires. After 12/31/08, your new landlord can do whatever he wants.
