It depends. If you are trying to rent it specifically to them through Section 8, then the house will have to be approved for Section 8 rental. An inspection is normally required to make sure it meets certain standards. They also have minimum housing requirements for various family types/sizes - for instance, if your family member has 6 kids and you have a 2-bedroom house, they aren't going to approve it. I believe the general rule is no more than 2 kids per bedroom.
