If you have made up your mind that you really want a divorce and you don't want to be in this marriage anymore, there is no reason to to go to counseling. People in counseling should be trying to make things work and resolve their issues. It not about going back on a decision, it is about being sure that you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that divorce is what you want. Don't let other people influence you, after all this is your life. Eleven years is a long time, and if you were not happy why continue on?
I Have Been Married For 11 Yrs I Am Sure That I Want A Divorce We Started Marriage Counseling But I Don't Want To Go Back On My Decision Since It Has Taken Me A Long Time To Able To Say It...can Someone Please Give Me Some Advice...?
It seems that you are not sure. If your mind is really made up you don't ask other people. We don't know what you have been through. What you have tried to make it work. For such an important matter don't worry about changing your mind, worry about being sure this is what you truly want.
Ask yourself if this is what you really want to do. Because sometimes the only way to know if you want something or not is to let it go. If it comes back, then you know that you really do want it.
