IMO.........Of course we all wish we could say targeting cops is a thing of the past, like polio. But like beating back polio, as long as human ignorance is stoked by angry mob mentality, we aren't out of the woods with this either.

I'm not sure if you remember 1968 (I'll bet Rooster does) but there are direct comparisons to the current environment: Election year, lame duck President, unpopular war, shaky economy, racial protests and street violence in large cities. It was tense times. Add radical Islamists and instant worldwide access and here we are.  Wait 'til some of these ongoing police trials are adjudicated (there do seem to be alot of them), not much in the way of easing tensions likely there.

I don't know, Otis, but until we reset the entire culture of police relations, cultivate sane discourse with and among those oppressed, and clean up the broken justice system, this madness might be around for awhile.  Just saying....

In my opinion it is one of those opportunity / copy cat issues. "Hey everybody is doing it, let me take a turn".  No real ryme or reason.

People need to STOP believing that ALL police officers shoot poor, unarmed, innocent people all the time. Sure, they're are a few renegades, but overall,  they are a decent, law-abiding group trying to serve and protect.  More often than not, these scumbags ARE criminals and not only have guns themselves,  but aren't afraid to use them on ANYONE!!!        # BlueLivesMatter👮

I suspect that people would be a lot more reasonable if they didn't see the Police Protective Association AND the police management close up and become defensive even when the wrongdoing is caught on camera for the world to see.
