Does anything involved with the police (e.g. getting arrested) stay on someones record? (e.g. the same as other things like domestic abuse/assault)

Unless all this trouble was before eighteen you can get it expunged, if it's after, uh no you can't you are an official adult and what you do stays with you for life, the only violations that can be expunged are traffic related offenses that did not result in a felony.

So I hope your not 18 yet if your looking to keep a clean record

Not true you can hire an attorney to have your record expunged.  Normally if you follow the court orders, complete what they asked you to complete, like probation or courses/classes they prescribed. The problem is that regardless if you were found guilty or not guilty it still shows you were arrested/charged with this crime. Mostly people want their record expunged because they pled not guilty and finished the requirements of the court but its still showing on their record when applying for jobs and etc..

There is some  good information on record expungement on the web.

Depends on the charge. If its on there you could always look at expungement.
