If you have the proper class license, it's legal. If you a care giver for a recognized animal refuge or zoo, it's legal. I have 2 friends that own exotic animals. They have the proper licenses, I and a few others are emergency care givers for animals when shelters are full, or after natural disasters. Check with your wildlife conservation authorities.
