I have found out that my ex husband is maybe marrying again. He has told me that he has a will where our son is the sole beneficiary. How can I find out on my sons behalf( he will be 16 in july), and how does my son get a copy of his fathers will?
Iwish to acquire a copy of a will made in scotland as my sons' scottish father has recently died in scotland,my son being the first born son of the deceased.I would appreciate some advice.
The question should be ideally directed towards a lawyer, who would be able to give you a more comprehensive view of the legalities involved in the situation. However, if you do have a legal right to obtain the document, or if you are a beneficiary, then I am sure you can get in touch with the lawyer who is in charge of it and request for a scanned copy of the will.
However, you cannot obtain a copy if you do not have the right to. If the person who made the will has not left for a provision for you or mentioned you in any way, I do not think you are liable to get access to the will. Generally even family members do not have access to a person's will, if it has been entrusted to the lawyer by the individual who drafted it.
