To get married in Georgia, you don't have to be a resident of Georgia. However, if you're not a resident, you need to apply for a marriage license in the same county as the wedding. There is no waiting period and the cost to get married is about $26, in some counties it's more. You'll need two forms of ID and if you've divorced with six months, you'll need to provide a copy of your divorce decree during the application process. Blood tests are not required.

The minimum age to get married in Georgia is 16. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you may apply if accompanied by both parents who have given written consent. If the bride is pregnant or if you already have children, parental consent is not required.

Note: In November 2004, voters passed a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage.
