Not unless you have a court order against him

This is nothing to mess with.  Call the police.  He should be arrested.  Don't assume he won't do anything too dangerous (especially if he's apologizing and saying it won't happen again)    There are people with permanent injuries, or even dead and buried because they "knew he wouldn't really hurt" them.

In a lot of jurisdictions, it is possible to file a police report in order to get information on record in case it is ever needed in the future. If I were in your situation, I would go down to the police station and request to file such information in case your boyfriend ever did something to you again. Then, I would turn around and contact him by replying to one of his text messages, telling him what I had done, letting him know the police are aware of him violating the conditions of his bond. Let him know that if he continues harassing you, you will also be contacting both the DA and his bail bondsman.

I would talk to a lawyer, before responding to him.

In some jurisdictions, a couple things could happen ... (1) YOU will also be in violation of the order against contact, or (2) since you responded the authorities will view any future contact as acceptable.

It's just too bad orders of protection aren't taken all that seriously by the legal system in most places around the country. Guys like the one she mentions surely don't.
