I went to a chiropractor to get my dad treated for back and buttock pain he was complaining for. Chiro gave indigestion pills and did some alignment of leg for 1.5 month. A week after dad passes away due to cardiac arrest. Can I sue the chiro and how?

Sue the chiropractor for what? Your dad's death? You'd have a really tough time proving that chiropractic work caused a heart attack....as I really doubt it did.

You 'can' try .. but you very likely wouldn't win. Not until you have significant proof that the Chiropractor commited some sort of negligence or if the death was directly caused by his treatment, which my the way, is HIGHLY unlikely.

The thing is ... People die, and can die at any given moment .. And as sad and disturbing as it is .. Your Dad's death may have had nothing to do with the treatment, at all.  He may have been on the verge of a heart attack, and it was just a matter of time.

I am perplexed by your rushed inclination to sue .. Given your Dad's treatment is soo unlikely to have 'caused'  his death.  If an autopsy had conclusively proven that his medication caused a direct link to his death due to an incorrect dosage given to him, or an improper proceedure for alignment was performed that punctured a artery (for example)  .. THEN you may have grounds to sue, and only THEN should the thought of suing anyone even arise .. But, just to jump to conclusions or jump at a chance to make some money .. That is definitely disturbing.

As the others have said ... You can TRY, but you would have to prove the chiropractor guilty ... And it's highly unlikely either chiropractics or "indigestion pills" caused the heart attack.

Also ... When you lose, many states would allow the chiropractor to recoup their legal costs from you.  So you would have to pay for not only your lawyer, but theirs as well.
