How do celebrities get away with crimes?

Technically, celebrities don't get away with crimes - although there are cases where they may have been treated more leniently than the rest of us...

I think what makes a big difference is not so much how "famous" the celebrity is, but how much money they can put behind their legal defence.

I also think high profile cases like that of OJ Simpson and Oscar Pistorius (who is apparently eligible for parole only 2 years after shooting his girlfriend dead) have skewed the public's opinion.

Lawyers/barristers come in many shades of grey, and those at the bottom of the salary scale are far less gifted than those at the top. Celebrities can afford to hire the best -- people who can run rings around less gifted opponents.

It's not celebrities who get away with things, but those people who have sufficient funds to hire the best defence.

Cos they are pretty and popular and they get to bend the rules ;/  im kinda disgusted by what they get away with, not a good life lesson for the youth. I'm pretty too ! But I can't rob a bank and get away with it .. Life's not fair. But there's wine so aight ;)

Kass is right, its mostly that Celebs can afford to hire the best Lawyers who then make back door deals to get their clients off which is not right but its the reality of the world, that the more money you have, you can bend the rules in your favour unfortunately.
