Whom ever is in the wrong! If someone is falsely accused then found to be "Innocent" the accuser should apologize in the same manner if not multiplied in some manner for this assault on character. If the Accused is found to be guilty of the act, then this person of course needs to make the apology. The real issue is once accused can anyone every really be exonerated as once said the imagery of being accursed is not as easily erased from others minds as this apology may not be heard by everyone and accepted as if the statement where never said originally.

Depends on who was right and who was wrong.....the person in the wrong should apologize.
If you were accused of doing something wrong and you were....then you should apologize.
If you were accused of doing something wrong and you didn't.....then the accuser should apologize to you and to the person that you allegedly did the wrong too.  Hope this  helps.  Janes

Yes it all depends on who was right, if someone had accused me of something and I was in the right then I would totally expect them to apologize

The one who had done the wrong accusation should apologize. If it was not your fault, need not feel bad for it. You & your conscience (may be spelling mistake sorry), that you haven't done it
