They create less runoff and they are separate, yet don't take up too much space. Also, the Victorian terrace houses were very pretty and are much nice-looking than ugly apartment blocks. They also don't get run down as quickly as apartment blocks and do not ruin views, because they are not very tall, and allow a person to still have a small garden and live in the city.
There are not many disadvantages, but some may be that they are not very suited to some climates, and can become quite damp and drafty in winter, they also need lots of heating.
