Yes you have your rights and you should be able to leave your parents home at 16
as long as you have a home to go to and your not living out on the streets, you should still keep in contact with your parents to let them know that your ok, but they can not force you to come home, wen you have family troubles and your ready to get out of there,
so yes at 16 you should be able to leave your house, if you have another home and you stay in school,
You can leave at 16 without your parents consent, but you may lose your chances for financial aid in some cases. If you are not 16 you can leave and stay with someone else, and they will not be charged as long as they did not assist you in leaving home, but there must be some sort of abuse, emotional or physical.
To leave home you must stay in school and have a place to live, and if you are living on your own, a means to support yourself. After living on your own you may be able to apply for emancipation, becoming an adult under law making it easier to sign a lease and get a job, and survive, in general, without your parents.
