The word 'easement' describes the phenomenon of the right of a person to perform certain kind of acts on the land that is owned by someone else. Easement includes in itself the right to pass through the land and also to construct a roadway on the land. Sometimes it includes the maintenance part also.

If you want to determine who owns the easement on a certain property, you can approach the person himself who has given the right. He can tell you about the rights he has given to somebody. If you have no idea about the owner himself, then you can contact the registration department itself. By paying a small amount you can take information from there also. Sometimes there is a provision to provide information without cost also and in that case, you can get it for free.
