The best defense against scammers is common sense. Sure, you could set your email filters and caller ID to filter out unwanted calls and emails, but some will make it through. Just be vigilant and recognize that no legitimate company will ask for your information over the phone or through email. If something worrisome does appear, always log into your accounts via a seperate browser or by looking up the exact number of the company you must reach. Never call any numbers or follow any links contained within these emails or phone calls.
