...Darn it, I don't know either! What is the point of a trial if there's plenty of evidence the person is guilty? I know this is a stupid question but I genuinely don't know!

No matter what ! Innocent until proven guilty beyond a doubt. Everyone is entitled by law to a fair trial.

Well everyone is entitled to a trial. But i have been thrue our so called justice system . Unless you have money for good attys your screwed..if you are arrested your guilty.

Because we have these silly laws saying that EVERYONE has a right to a trial.  Besides sometimes, when the evidence is overwhelmingly clear of guilt, the trial is more about what the penalty will be.
