Well, it is basically saying that if temperature increases, so will the volume of a certain object. Good analogy is:

As a balloon is exposed to a constant flame (heat), the ballon will expand.

The common sense explanation is, as molecules get hotter they move faster and with more momentum, so they spread out faster. In a balloon, the balloon expands as it heats up because molecules are hitting the sides of the balloon with more force and push it outward.
