A situation where someone has been in possession of land for a minimum period of time (the law has recently changed as has the time limits) but where there are no deeds to prove who owns the land.
The occupier can then be granted a possessory title to the land - which effectively gives them a limited title to the land. That title can eventually be upgraded to an absolute (unlimited) title if no other claims are made.
