In order to get your state identification card, you will need to have with you at least three forms of identification. This can be a passport, driver’s license or even household bills that are in your name. You can even take with your three different bills or two bills and your driver’s license as long as you have three of them.

There is a way for you to get a copy of your birth certificate for occasions such as this as a birth certificate is becoming increasingly important as a required form of identification. Each state has its own set of rules when it comes to obtaining a copy of your birth certificate so you should check your state’s government website for further information on how to get one.

State identification is needed especially if you are a foreign national or have just arrived in the United States. Be sure to check your state’s government website to find out exactly what documentation you need to take with you.

You will probably need to go to your local Department of Motor Vehicles as if you are applying for your driver’s license but this time you will not need to take any tests. Make sure that you have your Social Security number with you and any other documents that you were told to bring with you. You will not be required to take an ID sized photograph of yourself with you as they will take a new one of you then and there.

Even though it may take a long time as other people will also be getting their state identification cards, it is important that you stay in the correct lines and follow all instructions that are issued to you in order to make the process as quick and easy as possible.

That is not true. At least in Oregon. In oregon you must have 1) either birth certificate or passport 2) some kind of photo ID (I believe it must be government issued or something like a school id) 3) proof of address not older then 3 months old.

And you can no longer use the state ID they have on record in there computers because of some new bull sh!t law... This is for oregon different states may vary.
