If I got caught stealing at Kohl's. Would the cops check if I stole from other places through their security cameras?

No. They will usually only research what's in question.

But you better believe your face is going up on a wall and the video will be posted for public view as well as your criminal record.

Doesn't seem like much until you are later in life and applying for jobs or an apartment for rent. You are tied to your past and will be judged as such.

I remember when I was young I dated a girl that I was head over heels for. Pocketing was a part if daily life for me, part of living the streets. I once gave her something I took, as a gift. I had never seen such disappointment in someones stare before. Unspoken words that screamed louder than any voice of reason. That was 13 years ago.

I don't remember what it was that I gave her, but I will always remember what she gave me in return. It changed my life.

No, they do not have the time and resources for that. With that said I suggest you quit stealing, no matter where you are.

You may think you are stealing from a big company, but the reality is that company has to recoup that money from somewhere. That somewhere is from those who pay for their goods, and the employees who get smaller wages. You may think that all you took was worth a small amount, but people like you add up. Then they company has to invest in security systems and personnel, meanwhile they clerk on the floor is stuck at barely above minimum wage.

I could go on but I am afraid my language will get me kicked off. I can't stand thieves.
