Is the death penalty effective?

I'm 50/50 with that. I believe in an eye for an eye, but the death penalty being effective , I would have to say, No. These criminals that commit terrible crimes, know they can make appeals and appeals and drag it on for years. Jodie Arias is a good example of wasted taxpayers money. If some was given the death penalty and they quickly carried it out like they did in the old day, then it would be effective. As of now? No.

If the death penalty's for lowering murder rate, then it's not effective because it does not lower crime rate. Although study after study upon study show no evidence, we can't seem to all agree this is a fact and not an opinion.

Unpestered by reasons, the executions follow through as scheduled.
