What are the skateboarding laws in Ottawa, Ontario? I use my skateboard with my friend all the time, going to school and and stores and everywhere on the sidewalk though!.. I'm 13 If it matters.

If you're wondering whether skateboarding is illegal in Ottawa, Canada - then this might be of interest to you:

Clauses 77 and 84 of City of Ottawa bylaw 2003-530 specifically forbid people from using a skateboard, roller-skates, in-line skates, toboggans, children's wagons, carts and even sleighs on city streets and sidewalks.

Apparently a copy of the bylaw isn't available online, but you can request one (presumably for free) from [email protected]

So basically, skating anywhere that's not your property, a skatepark, or Carleton University (which allows skating) can get you fined.
