JPay is one of the main services where the families and friends of inmates can ensure that they are supported financially. Through visiting the website at www.jpay.com, the relatives of an inmate are usually asked to provide the prisoner’s unique ID number that relates to the jail where they are based. This online platform can be used in states and counties throughout America, and if you want to confirm whether or not JPay is compatible with the correctional facility where your loved one is based, a US map that lists all of the compatible facilities is available on the service’s website.

You are able to send money by using your Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card, and all of the payments that are received for an inmate’s trust account are normally accepted, processed and delivered to the inmate within one working day. This said, the actual processing times can vary depending on several circumstances. In some circumstances, you will also be able to use a JPay account to process more than payments, as there are facilities which offer messaging services where you can send an email to an inmate for them to read and respond to. Once you have logged in, there will be icons explaining how you can use this service if it’s available.

The states which do not accept JPay services in any of their prisons include Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Colombia, Wyoming, Idaho and West Virginia. In these cases, you might need to consult a representative from your relative’s correctional facility to learn of the alternatives which are available to you.

Do not worry if you are unable to use JPay, as there will be different ways for payments to be processed to sustain your loved one during their time of incarceration.

You send money order to jail facility with their name and inmate number on it or you can deliver cash in person. They will record funds on books.

I would call the prison ask them and they will tell you what you have to do so that he will get the credit. Prisoners can not have money on them. The system is set up like a credit card.

Ok. Well you would have to go to Jpay.com and register yourself an account. Once you have registered you will need to log in. You can search for your inmate by name or by there CDC #. If there is a match in the system then you will be able to select that inmate. Keep in mind that sometimes the system takes a few day to update if they are still being processed. It took me 3 days before my b/f was in the system. Once he's in the system you can go to the money tab. It will show the inmates name you are sending money to and it will give you an option. It should show offender or offenders resituitiion. Make sure that you choose offender so that he can get the money to purchase from the commisary. Hope this answers your question. Its real easy to send money through jpay. You can pay with a debit credit card with the logos like visa mastercard and such. Best of luck and wishes.

You create an account and input your inmates name and id number and follow the steps to send money.  Their fees are pretty high though.  I started using Cell-Mail Greetings instead.  Go to www.cellmailgreetings.com it's fast and cheaper.  You just need to know inmate name, id, and prison info.

Usually you have to sent a money order in a letter to the inmate; they open the inmate's mail and put the money order in his account.  I don't know about Jay Pay, it isn't in my state, so if it's something in your state, call the prison, or write the inmate.
