My landlord and myself had a written rental agreement. My landlord is deceased and her grandchild is now the trustee. What are my rental rights.

I recommend that you talk to the landlord/tenant board where you are. It can vary from state to state. If the new landlord takes over, and lets you continue to reside there, then I recommend that you take pictures of the condition of the apt. And give a copy of them to the new landlord, and then sign a lease with the new landlord to make sure that he doesn't come back in 2 days to kick you out. Hope this helps, good luck.

The verbal agreement ended with the death of your landlord. Now you need to make a written or verbal agreement with the new landlord. It is always good to sign a written lease agreement.

Now the new landlord can evict you and you don't have any right to stop him/her.

MY landlady passed on 12/23/2009 her husband passed 06/23/2010 no will could be found by the children.   She had 3 children by a previous marriage. He had 3 children by a previous marriage. He "the husband" had her name taken off the property after her death.   His two daughters now believe that they are the only ones who should be in control due to the fact that they are his blood heirs. However his son who is also is blood heir by another marriage they want to leave him out of everything.   I am not sure who I should pay my rent to????
